Obviously i am well over the 2 week honeymoon period but i desperately want out of this pathetic contract. Any ideas anyone? I fixed this issue it seems to be with permissions set in the registry.

open your registry editor.

start>run>regedit

navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CONTROLSET001
ENUM
USB

Then look for VID_12d1&Pid_1003
set folder permissions for ALL users to full control

next one down look for
VID_12d1&pid_1003&MI_00
again set the folder permissions for ALL users to full control

Close regedit.

restart computer.

plug in 3 modem
start application, even if it sez INVALID modem wait a moment should then appear.

did for me.
