If you’re writing a long blog post, opening with the main point of your post can be a good idea - remember you will be competing with god knows how many other resources online and your readers will appreciate being able to get to the nub of your post quickly.

Many newspapers and magazines use this approach too - open with the main point of information and then delve into the whys and wherefores.

Your readers can quickly get an overview and read on if they wish to. If they don’t read on you have still delivered some value in the first few sentences.

Summarising at the end and reinfocing your main point is also worthwhile.
