Clarity is hugely important. Thinking about your point before you start writing will help - it may sound obvious, but It’s very easy to lash into a blog post without thinking, and suddenly find you’ve twisted yourself in knots and digressed into all kinds of interesting but irrelevant points. Or worse, you don’t notice, you publish, and weeks later you read it back and realise your point is lost in the noise.

Figure out what point you want to make before you start, stay on topic and hit your point clearly.

If you do find yourself in the middle of a rambling post and are worried you may have gone off track, consider re-writing. It can seem daunting if you’ve spent ages writing what has turned into a ramble, but often once you’ve done the ground-work and you know where you’re going with it you’ll fly through a re-write.
