Business blogging tips: Love your job! (10 of 10)

Posted by FrankP

I saved this one for last, because it’s not quite as simple to implement as the preceding nine tips!

If you have a blog, and you blog frequently about your business, there is little doubt you will see an increase in traffic to your blog. There are a myriad technical things you can do to improve your blogs performance, there are various ways to improve your writing technique, and you could spend endless amounts of time promoting your blog online.

But in order to truly get the most out of business blogging, there is one ingredient that matters more than any other. Passion.

Passion for what you blog about is what makes for a stand out blog. Let’s face it, who doesn’t want their customers to be passionate about their product or service - every business wants their clients to tell all their friends and rave about what a wonderful product or service they have discovered. How can you expect this kind of passion from your customers if you don’t have it yourself?

So my tip is this: Before you blog today, sit back and think about what it is you love about your job. Find the things within your job that make you tic. Look for bloggable items within the pleasurable realms of your job.

Passion conveys in blogs, passion is attractive, passion will encourage readers to bookmark your site or subscribe to your RSS. Passion will make your blog stand out from the crowd.

And if you can’t muster any passion for your work to blog about… well, then you may have a bigger problem than your blog ;)
